WAYCROSS, GA (October 24, 2014) - Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN, driver of the Clint Bowyer Racing car #5, clinched his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Championship title Sunday by virtue of his 4th place finish in the series finale. O'Neal, who finished second in the series points title chase three times (2012, 2006, 2005), finished 65 points ahead of Jimmy Owens to win the 2014 series championship. O'Neal won seven (7) events on the tour and finished in the top five (5) in twenty-six (26) series point events in 2014. O'Neal becomes the oldest driver in the history of dirt late model racing to win a national touring series championship at age fifty (50).
PORTSMOUTH, OH (October 19, 2014) – Scott Bloomquist led the final 39 laps to win his second career Optima Batteries Dirt Track World Championship -Presented by NAPA Auto Parts. Bloomquist entered his 27th DTWC event winning the race back in 2005 for the first time. Bloomquist earned $50,000 for the victory in his Ole Smoky Moonshine, Hawkeye Trucking, Durham Racing Engines, Sweet-Bloomquist entry. The event concluded the 2014 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season, after being moved back to Sunday at Portsmouth Raceway Park due to rain on Saturday.
PORTSMOUTH, OH (October 18, 2014)- The Optima Batteries Dirt Track World Championship-presented by NAPA Auto Parts will be held on Sunday afternoon, October 19th at Portsmouth Raceway Park after rain washed out the B-Mains and the $50,000-to-win main event on Saturday Night. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event from Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH is the final TV race that drivers can earn points as part of the Bad Boy Mowers TV Challenge - Presented by E3 Spark Plugs. The Bad Boy Mowers TV Challenge - Presented by E3 Spark Plugs is a fifteen (15) race mini-series consisting of the TV races on the LOLMDS schedule during 2014. The driver earning the most points at the TV races will be crowned the Bad Boy Mowers TV Race Points Champion and will receive a $10,000 cash award at the series year-end awards banquet.

The Documentary show “Mega Speed” is a high adrenaline one-hour magazine show focusing on fast vehicles and the people that race them. The TV crew from Mega Speed will be following the top three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers, Don O’Neal, Jimmy Owens and Scott Bloomquist. The Mega Speed crew will focus on the behind the scenes action of these three drivers and profiling the different personalities of each driver and their preparation for the DTWC at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH this weekend.
