Nebraska-Iowa Doubleheader Next for Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series

BATAVIA, Ohio (July 15, 2024) – The busy Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series summer stretch continues with another exciting doubleheader to kickstart the week.

The Series is bound for Nebraska’s Eagle Raceway on Monday, July 15, before returning to the Hawkeye State on Tuesday, July 16, for a stop at Shelby County Speedway. Both tracks are new to the circuit.

The field will compete is a full program both nights, which includes Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and their respective A-Mains.

Monday’s 40-lap Malvern Bank High Bank Heist at Eagle Raceway boasts a $10,000 grand prize. Shelby County Speedway pays tribute to the Kosiski Family, founders of the Silver Dollar Nationals, on Tuesday with a 53-lap, $10,053 to win feature event.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be joined by IMCA Stock Cars at Eagle Raceway on Monday, then IMCA Late Models at Shelby County Speedway on Tuesday.

At Eagle Raceway, the pit gate will open at 2:00 PM with the general admission gate opening at 5:00 PM. On track action will begin at 6:30 PM.

The pit gate at Shelby County Speedway will open at 1:00 PM. The general admission gate will open at 4:00 PM. Hot Laps begin at 6:30 PM.

Eagle Raceway is a 1/3-mile oval located just two miles east of Eagle, Nebraska on U.S. 34, often referred to as the “World’s Fastest Third Mile.” Additional information can be found by visiting www.eagleraceway.com.

Ricky Thornton Jr. leads the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship presented by ARP. Jonathan Davenport is second, followed by Devin Moran, Tim McCreadie, and Hudson O’Neal rounding out the top five in the current championship standings.

Clay Harris leads the O’Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year chase by just 5 points over Drake Troutman.
