Davenport and Hubbard to Contend for Quarter Master Rookie of the Year in 2012

WAYCROSS, GA (May 4, 2012) – Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are pleased to announce that Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA and Austin Hubbard of Seaford, DE have announced their intentions to run for the 2012 Quarter Master Rookie of the Year.

Quarter Master, the title sponsor of the LOLMDS Rookie of the Year program, will award $10,000 cash and a product award to the driver that wins the Rookie of the Year title. Quarter Master will also award $2,500 cash to the driver that finishes runner-up in the chase for the Rookie of the Year title in 2012.

Additional product awards will be handed out to the top rookies at the year-end awards banquet compliments of Eibach Springs, Fast Shafts, Weld Wheels, Wrisco Aluminum, and Performance Bodies.

Jonathan Davenport, 28, is in his first season driving for Clint Bowyer Racing and is teammates with the 2011 LOLMDS Quarter Master Rookie of the Year, Jared Landers. Davenport is running Barry Wright Race Cars in 2012 with a Roush-Yates Racing Engine providing the horsepower. Georgia Boot, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, Crawford Supply, Cometic Gasket, Ditzfeld Transfer Inc., and JRi Shocks sponsor the team. Tommy Grecco is the crew chief for the team.

Austin Hubbard, 20, will primarily race his family owned race team along with some stints in the Tim Logan Racing entry as well. The teams will utilize a Rocket Chassis and Barry Wright Race Cars with power from Cornett Racing Engines and Russell Baker Racing Engines. Their sponsors will include; Trinity Logistics, Xtreme Graphics, Keyser Port City Racing, Integra Shocks, Sunoco Race Fuels, Morehead Auto and Truck Parts, AMH Bulk Carriers, Salisbury Door and Hardware, and Virginia Motor Speedway. Nick Hoover is the crew chief for the team with consultation from Randall Edwards.

Davenport and Hubbard along with all of the other stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be joined by several of the top national and regional drivers this upcoming weekend May 4th and 5th at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL and Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY for a pair of $10,000 to win showdowns.
