WAYCROSS, GA (April 27, 2015) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will kick off the month of May with a highly anticipated Midwest tripleheader.  The three-race swing will see the nation’s top dirt late model drivers and regional stand-outs battle it out for over $130,000 in total prize money.

The LOLMDS returns to Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois on Thursday night, April 30th, for the 2nd Annual St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100.   This complete show includes:  Hot Laps, Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $12,000 to win, 100-lap main event.  Modifieds and B-Modifieds will join the LOLMDS as support divisions that evening.

In 2014, Bobby Pierce scored the biggest win of his young racing career, when he pocketed $12,000 for his triumph in a thriller over Brian Shirley.  Steve Francis finished third, followed by Jimmy Owens, who rallied from twenty-fourth to finish fourth.  Eddie Carrier Jr. completed the top five.

The action shifts to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Friday night, May 1st.  This event will mark the first of two visits to the Kevin and Tammy Gundaker-promoted facility in 2015.  Some of the Midwest’s best dirt late model talents are expected to challenge the nation’s premier touring series drivers in the annual Spring Spectacular at the 3/8-mile oval.  Scott Bloomquist will return as the defending champion of the event.  Fans can look forward to a complete show of Hot Laps, Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $10,000 to win, 50-lap feature.  Also in competition on May 1st will be the A-Modifieds in $1,000-to-win main event, and the B-Modifieds in a $600-to-win main event.
