CORONA, CA (March 15, 2007) - The class of contenders for the 2007 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Comp Cams Rookie of the Year have been announced by Series Officials. A total of six drivers declared before the March 1st deadline with the top rookie for the Series in 2007 earning a $10,000 cash award.

Those drivers that have announced their intentions to compete for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Comp Cams Rookie of the Year title this season include Ricky Arms of Moss, TN, Garrett Durrett of Simsboro, LA, Damon Eller of Crumpler, NC, Mike Mataragas of De Kalb, IL, Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY and Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY. 

37 year old Ricky Arms was the 2003 UMP National Modified Champion and drives for car owner Tom Herron.  The team utilizes both a C.J. Rayburn and MasterSbilt GTO Chassis powered by a RaceTek Engine.  The sponsors of the 2006 Tennessee Thunder Series runner-up are Perfect Wall, Inc., White's Total Performance, Metal-Lite Inc. and NAPA Auto Parts. 

Garrett Durrett is 22 years old and in 2006 finished 14th in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series final points standings and was third in the rookie of the year chase in '06 for that series.  The Garrett Racing Team runs a Rocket Ford Fusion with a Larry Wallace Racing Engine under the hood.  The 58 cent entry is sponsored by Davison Transport, Cizmar, Day Motorsports, Integra Racing Shocks, J&J Motorsports, JFR Graphics and Stuckey Enterprises.

Damon Eller drives the Independence Lumber Motorsports MasterSbilt GTO number I4.  The 28 year old racer runs a Jay Dickens Racing Engine and is sponsored by Independence Lumber, Inc., Foxfire Realty, Grayson Farm and Leasing, Allstar Performance, Tiger Rear Ends, Motorsports design, WMF Racing Products, Torco Racing Fuels, Bert Transmissions and Carter Cat Machinery.

22 year old Mike Mataragas finished third in the 2005 Northern Allstars Late Model Series final points standings. He pilots a Rocket Monte Carlo with a Pro Power Engine.  His sponsors include Petersen Aluminum, JC Dubil, A to Z Motorsports, Tri-State Towing, Schomers Trading Post and Mid-America Underground.

27 year old Brad Neat was the 2002 Late Model Track Champion at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY.  Neat drives the Greg Neat owned number 41. The team will have both a MasterSbilt and C.J. Rayburn Chevrolet Monte Carlo at their disposal.  The Cornett Racing Engines powered cars are sponsored by Neat's Service Center, Neat, Wilson and Roberts, Inc., Tarter-Roberts Insurance, Tarter Gate, Stephens Pipe and Steel, NWN Distributors, Tri-County Wood, Swafford Signs, Simpson and AFCO Racing Products.

Justin Rattliff is the youngest candidate contending for 2007 Rookie of the Year honors as the 19 year old is coming off of a season where he was the 2006 O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Rookie of the Year and finished second in that Series final point standings.  Rattliff drives a C.J.
