BATAVIA, OHIO (July 17, 2018) - As the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series swing continues through the Midwest, the quest for the Lucas Oil National Championship is heating up.

The 2015 National Champion, Jonathan Davenport, leads the tour’s win tally this season with six victories and holds a 130-point lead in the current standings. Three-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion, Scott Bloomquist and the defending National Champion, Josh Richards are tied for second-place. Four-time National Champion, Earl Pearson Jr, and Tim McCreadie round out the top-five in series standings.

The battle for the coveted national title will invade Brown County Speedway on Tuesday, July 17th and Jackson Motorplex on Wednesday, July 18th.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will visit Aberdeen, S.D. for the 2nd Annual Bullet SportsWear Shootout. In 2017, Brown County Speedway produced one of the most exciting events in recent memory. Scott Bloomquist returns as the defending race winner, after surviving several challenges from Josh Richards and Tim McCreadie, to win the inaugural event.

Richards, who charged from his ninth starting spot, finished a close second. Tim McCreadie, who led a number of laps, ultimately came home in third. Hudson O’Neal and Brandon Sheppard completed the top-five. In addition to the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, the Street Stocks and IMCA Modifieds will also be in action at Brown County Speedway on Tuesday, July 17th.

Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the first time on Wednesday night. The state-of-the-art half-mile oval is known for thrilling, edge of your seat, racing action, lap after lap. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take center stage in Sturdevant's Auto Parts 50 - Presented by State Bank of Fairmont, along with Racesaver Sprint Cars and Late Model Street Stocks.

Both venues will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
