Rain Forces Postponement of Talladega Short Track Nationals

Talladega, AL (October 9, 2009) – Officials of Talladega Short Track and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have postponed the Talladega Short Track Nationals due to rain. At 4:50pm (Central Time), officials made the decision to postpone the event until Saturday, November 14^th; heavy rains have battered the region for weeks and began to fall around 4:00pm, with more showers expected later in the evening.

“We all hate getting rained out and having to reschedule events, especially when the race has already been rained out earlier in the season,” said Ritchie Lewis, Series Director for the LOLMDS, “I want to thank everyone for coming out to support us tonight, and hope to see them all tomorrow night and Sunday night at Dixie and Rome.”

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be back in action tomorrow night, October 9^th at Dixie Speedway for the Dixie Shootout, paying $10,000 to win. Sunday night, the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be at Rome Speedway for the Rome Showdown, also paying $10,000 to win.
